Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a great long weekend! Just wanted to send a quick update for our SS class this past Sunday as we get ready for a new adventure: Disciple 1!
This week we finished up The Song of Solomon series with a lesson on conflict and romance- keeping the romance alive and some key points to avoiding an affair in your marriage. Please make sure to thank Bob Eubank for leading our class on this for the summer!!
This coming Sunday we will be starting Disciple 1!! PLEASE register and pay for materials online TODAY if you haven't done so. The pastors need to know how many people to get materials for and make plans for who will lead the classes! The class will be going from 11am-1 / 1:30 pm every Sunday and we will need to bring a sack lunch for us and our kiddos each week! This Sunday, we will probably get pizza ordered and all pitch in for it, but Doug said he will send an email to those registered for the plan for Sunday. We hope to get a large turn out for this and it will be great motivation having us all do it together!!
Have a great week and I will try to keep everyone updated on where we are in Disciple 1!

3/27/2011 Update
Hello again! Hope everyone is having a great week! Great to have everyone in Sunday School this week and if you couldn't make it we missed you and hope you can make it this Sunday!
This week in we dug into chapter 4 of John and the story of Jesus revealing himself to a Samaritan woman at the well, which was also Doug's sermon this week. She is not only a woman, but a Samaritan, a people which were generally looked down by the Jews as outcasts. Jesus not only engages in conversation, but directs the topic toward spiritual matters. His direction is immediately shown by the mention of God and the metaphor of "living water". Jesus offers a source of refreshment, life-giving water, which the woman takes to mean literal flowing water. The significance of living-water offered by Jesus is not obvious to the woman, she does not think of something more than physical water even after Jesus mentions in 'the gift of God.' Third, Jesus tells her what he has to give her, explained by the living water metaphor which leads to eternal life.
For the next few weeks, we will be continuing to take a deeper look into the scriptures that are being preached on in the services. So far these have stemmed really great discussions so please come and join our conversations!
IMPORTANT: We will NOT have Sunday School on Easter Sunday! This coming Sunday, Cary and I will be playing Handbells (NOT handball) during the offering in the 11:00 service if you want to come watch!
*Parents' Night Out is coming up on April 8th, do we want to plan a get together or a fun night out? Leave a comment and lets see if we can set something up!
*You can still join the girls in reading The Shack! We are meeting on Thursday nights and this week we will have read thru chapter 9! Come join us!
If I forgot anything please let me know or leave a comment!! Look for the Prayer Requests in an email!
Have a GREAT week! Hope to see everyone on Sunday! Chuck and I will be attending the Traditional service for the month of April for anyone else who might want to join us!

Update for 3/20/2011
Hello Crossroads! Here it is Thursday and I haven't given an update at all this week or last! So sorry...I promise to do beter :)
This week we went over John 3: 1-17 which was in conjunction with Cathy's sermon and was about Nicodemus who was trying to ask Jesus for help understanding spiritual questions in a literal manner.
For the next few weeks, we will be using the scripture that the sermon is about each week and take a deeper look/ interpretation of that scripture as our lesson!
Other things going on.....
If you want to join the ladies on Thursday nights for a "book club" of reading The Shack for Lent, let us know!
If anyone has anything else going on or coming up please leave a comment! Hope to see everyone this Sunday!

Happy Tuesday and Happy March!! I hope everyone's week has started out well!
